Five Dornier Squadrons Provide Frontline Surveillance of Indian Ocean.

Indian Naval Air Squadrons (INAS) numbering 310, 311, 313, 318 and 550 equipped with Dornier are providing frontline surveillance support of the Indian Ocean region. INAS 310 – The Cobras is located in Goa and performs multiple roles of surveillance, electronic and information warfare The INAS 550 is the Indian naval air squadron based at INS Venduruthy, Kochi and is engaged in maritime reconnaissance, patrol and Observer training. INAS 311 commissioned on 24 Mar 09 is based at INS Dega, Vishakhapatnam and operates the Dornier 228 aircraft carrying out surveillance of the Northern Indian Ocean including the Bay of Bengal.................
