Aero India 2013 – Fielding the Modern Air Force One of the primary purposes of holding the major aerospace event at a grand scale, Aero India 2013 is to seek routes to make up the deficiencies and modernize the Indian Air Force (IAF). Against a requirement of 42 plus squadrons the force is said to be fielding 34 of which a number are the older MiG 21 squadrons though upgraded lack air worthiness. On the other hand there are a number of squadrons in various stages of upgradation such as the Jaguar and the Mirage 2000 contract for which having been signed of late.
