Indian PM in New York Meets UN Secretary General, Meets leaders of South Asian neighbours Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today met the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon. During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of involving nations which contribute troops to UN peacekeeping missions, in the decision-making process. He also emphasized the urgent need for UN reform, as the organization approaches its 70th anniversary. The Prime Minister had bilateral meetings with President Mahinda Rajapakse of Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala of Nepal.
