Is Indian Political Influence Bringing Stability in South Asia? In the past three months or so three South Asian States, Maldives, Bangladesh and Nepal have been through varied forms of national elections. In Maldives it was the presidential polls which were held after a series of cancellations and postponements on 16 November. Nepal saw elections for the Constituent Assembly (CA) that is mandated to draft the Constitution on 19 November while Bangladesh held Jatiya Sansad polls on 5 January.While the run up to these polls has been contentious, the outcome may see greater stability at least in Maldives and Nepal.
