Bangladesh Air Force Brief Overview of Combat Fighters

Bangladesh Air Force pilot was killed after a training aircraft crashed in Madhupur of Tangail on 23 November 2018. The identity of the deceased was confirmed by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) as Arif Ahmed Dipu, a wing commander of BAF.BAF has been flying the F7 BG for some years now. This is the export version of the Chinese J 7. The J-7 is a single-engine, lightweight fighter aircraft designed and manufactured by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China. Its design is based onthe Soviet era MiG-21 aircraft which the Chinese have been using extensively.The export version of J-7 was designated the F-7. BAF has 16 F-7MB, 16 F-7BG and eight FT-7B aircraft. As per Air Force Technology, the F-7 BG is powered by a single Liyang Wopen-13F/WP-7 turbojet engine which produces 44.1kN of dry thrust, while its afterburner thrust is 65.17kN.
