Uncertain Presidential Elections in Afghanistan But Ghani Leads

The Presidential race for the 28 September elections in Afghanistan is leading to emergence of two principal candidates both incumbents in the office for now – President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah. This comes even as the possible third strong contender from Peace and Moderation team, Mohammad Haneef Atmar suspended his campaign over differences of the post of a prime minister that was demanded by Atta Mohammad Noor who is the strongman of Balkh province in the North and is also a prominent leader of the Jamiat E Islami. This has led to an opportunity for  Ghani as well as Abdullah to gain support of the bulk votes that could be transferred to their ticket....................
