Taliban Hopeful For 'Outcome' in Afghan Peace Talks With US

The Taliban and the United States are both said to be making “serious efforts” to conclude a draft text in their latest round of peace negotiations in Qatar that could lay the ground for finding a political settlement to the war in Afghanistan. Afghan-born American diplomat, Zalmay Khalilzad, is leading the U.S. team of negotiators in the ongoing seventh round of talks in the nearly year-long dialogue between the two adversaries in the 18 years of war.
