OSINF Report – Pentagon Report on Progress in Afghanistan in First Half 2018

The biannual report of the United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) on the security and stability in Afghanistan for the period from December 1, 2017, through May 31, 2018 has been released The Report claims that the conditions based approach that has been adopted by the United States based on the strategic directions given by President Trump in August last year has breathed breathed new life into the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) and the Afghan government. The shift from a time-based to conditions-based approach sowed new doubt in the Taliban, as fighters and leadership recognized that the United States is committed to Afghanistan and committed to transforming the ANDSF into a lethal force capable of defending its homeland says the Report.................
