Is India Deploying A Military Training Team in Afghanistan? Indian analysts have been proposing deployment of Indian troops in Afghanistan for some time now. There may be a move to deploy an Indian military training team or a group of experts in Afghanistan. This has presumably got an impetus in the recent past during the visit of President Hamid Karzai to New Delhi. While there are a number of NATO trainers in Afghanistan, Karzai is keen to have Indian trainers due to cultural affinity and better understanding of local conditions of fighting.  Security remains a major concern though and Karzai has reportedly assured the same as per a report by the  Daily News and Analyses (DNA).
