Backlash in Afghanistan There is a backlash brewing within Afghanistan over its growing cooperation with Pakistan says PTI report on May 19. Pakistan is being blamed for encouraging Taliban insurgency in the country, it said. According to the report Pakistan’s army had confirmed that the two countries’ security agencies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last week in which Pakistan will help train and equip Afghan intelligence officers, take part in the interrogation of terror suspects and conduct joint operations.
