Anxiety in Afghanistan Ahead of Taliban US Agreement

Concerns are being expressed in Afghanistan over the agreement between the Taliban and the United States likely to be inked in the 9th Round of talks between the Doha representatives of the group with the US Envoy for Peace in Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad. Sima Samar, Present Ashraf Ghani’s special representative on human rights affairs, meanwhile highlighted that imposing a Taliban order in the country will lead to more chaors and will not last long “Negotiations should take place, but a peace where there is no the participation of the people and there is no guarantee for the participation of women and participation of victims of the war, is not durable,” she said.  Meanwhile US Secretary of State of Mike Pompeo has said that the United States is trying to reduce American casualties in Afghanistan even as the U.S. President Donald Trump has said Washington will announce somethings about Afghanistan in coming weeks. .............
