Key Trends Continuing cold weather will restrict operations in February; however suicide attacks and strikes on Afghan Army and police, government functionaries, western aid workers and Indians working in Afghanistan by Taliban expected. Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Khost, Ghazni, Nuristan and Kabul remain the areas in focus. Greater attention to Helmand is expected after February with setting of poppy sowing season.
