The Run of Play in Primary Round Gives Advantage to DPT in Bhutan's Elections

The Election Commission of Bhutan held the primary round of elections to the National Assembly on 15 September, 2018. In the Primary Round the voters cast their ballot for one of the four parties in the fray- the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the previous incumbent Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) and the two new entrants, Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa (DNT)  and Bhutan Kyuen-Nyam Party (BKP) contested the primary elections to be held on 15 September. The DNT, a new comer and the DPT the opposition party made it to the second round with the DNT winning a lead while the ruling PDP suffered a major setback as it trailed by three and a half percent from the second party the DPT. The final round of votes will be held on 18 October just two days away.................
