India Saudi Arabia Relations: Opportunities and Challenges

The Crown Prince  of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who also holds the title of Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is on his first State visit to India on February 19-20, 2019 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The young 34 year old Prince colloquially known as the MBS has brought about significant reforms in the country opening up social and economic vistas including loosening restrictions on public role of women. MBS is also seen as the architect of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. In the foreword he has identified three pillars to achieve the vision – exploitation of status as the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds, employ the  strong investment capabilities, to stimulate economy and diversify revenues and finally transform the unique strategic location as a global hub for trade and waterways.......................................
