Next Steps to Indian Membership of Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) The Seoul Verdict Now that the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) Plenary held on 23 and 24 June 2016 in the South Korean Capital Seoul is behind us and seeming lack of advancement in India’s membership bid for the exalted group, there is a need to think ahead and plan the next steps. India figured twice in the Statement issued by the NSG after the plenary – one as a general reference to non-NPT members to state that “The NSG had discussions on the matter of “Technical, Legal and Political Aspects of the Participation of non-NPT States in the NSG” and decided to continue its discussion”.
