There are multiple risks in early roll out of  5G for India ranging from geo-political to technology and costs, yet these are far outweighed by benefits that will empower the masses. Caught between the enormous technological and thus economic challenges in roll out of 5 G telecommunications networks, geo-political technology competition of the two super economies of the World - United States and China and security concerns, India’s policy makers have adopted the safest option – hedge.
