  PM Modi’s Twitter Diplomacy: The Pluses and Minuses On the eve of his visit to Japan, India’s Prime Minister, NarendraModi tweeted in Japanese for the first time. The aim was as per the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Government of India, “to talk to the people of Japan directly in Japanese”.  The series of tweets that were translated in the language by Japanese volunteers underlined the use of direct communication, one of the strengths of Mr Modi.
