Sri Lanka Navy's relief teams, under the directives of the Office of CDS and on information released by the Disaster Management Centre, have been deployed to provide assistance to the distressed people following the inclement weather in Southern and Western provinces in the island.The Navy Media Unit said ten naval relief teams with seven dinghies and two Emergency Rescue Boats have been deployed in affected areas.Naval personnel attached to the Marine Battalion and Rapid Response Rescue & Release Squadron (4RS) and also teams of Special Boat Squadron and Navy divers have already commenced relief work to restore the lives of affected people in respective areas.
