Defence Forces Continue to be on Standby for Flood Relief The after-effects of Cyclone Phailin have resulted in widespread heavy rains in Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Defence Crisis Management Group (DCMG) during its daily meeting with the representatives of all Services, Coast Guard, NDMA and State Governments here today carried out a holistic assessment of the ground situation.In anticipation of the likely flood situation arising in these States, it was decided to keep the Defence Forces on alert to mitigate the challenges at short notice.
