The present India-Bhutan Friendship Treaty came into force with the exchange of Instruments of Ratification between the two governments in Thimphu on March 2, 2007. The Treaty is what ironically the Chinese would call a Win- Win agreement - mutually beneficial for the two neighbours who have a long tradition of amity and concord.
