Maldives National Defence Forces (MNDF): Crisis Within Polarisation in the armed forces which was evident during the elections may be a cause of concern for the new government in Maldives. A letter signed by 17 high ranking soldiers had expressed concern over politicization of the military while earlier an appeal signed by 73 mid-ranking personnel, called on fellow soldiers not to obey any “unlawful” orders issues by former President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan.
