Joint India-Bangladesh Guidelines for Border Authorities 1975 is the protocol which indicates the actions to be taken by border forces. Bangladesh is representing against Indian edifice of the fence based on para 8 (e) which prevents construction of any structure having defence potential. Thus unprovoked firing to prevent fencing work is also undertaken from time to time. Despite the considerable security risks faced due to lack of a fencing, it is a hazardous assignment for the police forces to patrol the area.. |

On 1 May there were three simultaneous blasts in Dacca, Chittagong and Sylhet which were claimed by the militant outfit Jadid al-Qaeda Bangladesh. The organization warned all NGOs to stop their activities and warned the Quadiani Muslim community in Bangladesh. A plate stating, ‘NGO employees and Quadianis, be ready for death’ was recovered from the site of the blast at Kamalpur Railway Station in Dacca.
